Abstract : Alternative clean energy sources for vehicle is the center of attention in the recent decades. It is possible to utilize the generally lost energy into an alternate useful form. One such way is to harness the lost energy and convert it as a useful resource. In this research work the mechanical strain or the pressure on the tyres of trucks is converted into useful electrical energy. Piezo energy harvesters are used to extract this pressure-based energy and convert them into useful electrical energy. The harnessed energy can be used for various applications. Reliability study on piezoelectric module is conducted to assess the energy that can be harvested, and an extrapolation study is performed to assess for the future requirement.
