Abstract : Efficient and reliable power management is a vital aspect of the performance of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), especially in the current world scenario where its use is growing exponentially and its complexity is increasing. This work delves into designing and developing a Smart power module and an additional power distribution board for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The smart power module in UAVs is used for intelligent monitoring, optimizing energy consumption and extending the flight duration. The additional power board is used to supply power to parts such as motors, telemetry modules, payload modules, and sensors. The architecture of the proposed system is designed in such a way that it provides additional safeguarding features such as thermal management and overcurrent protection which allows the system to minimize risks that might occur during its operation. The use of this smart power module with the additional distribution board can be integrated starting from lightweight to heavy-performance drones thereby increasing its modularity and reliability. By using this smart system we can predict the battery levels of the drone and send a signal to the user by using the GSM module indicating that the power levels are dangerously low and the need for immediate retreat to the initial operating base for charging. This work therefore provides an adaptable solution for energy management in UAVs by addressing the current difficulties and challenges that are faced in power management and provides an easily scalable solution, hence setting a benchmark for the future of UAV technologies.
