Abstract : Blindness is a profound disability affecting millions worldwide, with significant implications for daily life and independence. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 2.2 billion people suffer from visual impairments, with 1 billion experiencing moderate to severe vision impairment. The impact extends beyond the physical realm, encompassing social, economic, and physical aspects of well-being. In the face of these challenges, there exists a pressing need for innovative solutions to enhance the lives of the visually impaired. A cost-effective, accurate support system such as a smart stick emerges as a beacon of hope. This multi-functional device serves as an obstacle detector, providing real-time feedback about the user's location with a panic button offering a quick and discreet means of summoning assistance in emergencies. Moreover, the smart stick doubles as a basic device, empowering users to independently manage elements of their environment from controlling fans and lights and fostering a greater sense of autonomy, by seamlessly integrating technology for the visually impaired, it also ensures safety and inclusion, promoting a more accessible world and equal opportunities. Widespread adoption of such innovations is pivotal for change in addressing the needs of individuals with visual disabilities.
