Abstract : The innovative technologies that are now present have changed the way one engages with digital systems, offering better ways to incorporate users into the system. Such a situation has increased the need for meeting solutions, especially in sectors where contact must be minimized. In this paper, we design a new touchless control system based on a standard computer web camera. The proposed system allows the user to control the system operations virtually, instead of using physical devices, one uses their fingers to draw up all sorts of media tasks that are available on the screen. It performs more complex tasks, such as adjusting the screen brightness, controlling the media, “drawing” on virtual surfaces, locking the screen, and being involved in presentation management with great efficacy. The system was highly effective, achieving a total accuracy level of 97.92% over working distances of 20–200 cm. It recognizes single-finger, double-finger, three-finger, four-finger, and five-finger gestures with rates of 94–99%, which assures proper and stable control, respectively. This technique also addresses the challenge of touchless interface systems by providing instant visual feedback, using minimal finger movements, and is convenient because it is clean to use and ideal for all interfaces, from educational aids to day-to-day digital use. This new style is also applicable in many other areas.
