Amrita School of Medicine is part of ultramodern, state-of-the- art Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (AIMS& RC), Faridabad, which is a 2,600 bedded largest private hospital of Asia with 534 smart ICU & critical care beds & 64 fully networked modular operation theatres. Amrita Research Centre (ARCD) housed next to the academic building is one of the largest biomedical innovation hubs focused on translational medicine, molecular biology, & regenerative medicine with facilities including GMP labs, biomanufacturing, & infrastructure for clinical trials. 

Departmental Scope & Services

The Department of Dermatology offers diagnosis & treatment of skin diseases in adults & children. Major areas include:

  • Allergic dermatology: Chronic eczema/dermatitis, urticaria, sun/chemical allergies.
  • Autoimmune & immunobullous disorders: Pemphigus, bullous pemphigoid, systemic sclerosis, lupus.
  • Infectious dermatology: Leprosy, STIs, fungal, bacterial, viral skin infections.
  • Clinical dermatology: Vitiligo, melasma & other pigmentary disorders, psoriasis, acne
  • Pediatric dermatology: Atopic dermatitis, ichthyosis, birthmarks.
  • Appendageal diseases: Alopecia & other hair disorders, hirsutism, nail disorders.
  • Procedural & aesthetic dermatology: Excisions of cysts/tumors, lasers for hair reduction & pigmentation, RF, chemical peels, micro-needling.

Infrastructure & Procedural Facilities

The department is equipped with modern devices & procedural setups:

  • A triple-wavelength laser (Alma Soprano Ice Platinum) for hair reduction across skin types.
  • Electrocautery machine (e.g., KLS Martin) for removal of skin tags, warts, etc.
  • Radiofrequency machine for lesion removal.
  • Cryogun for cryosurgery of small lesions.
