Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham faculty members was awarded a grant of Rs. 37.24 lakhs from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) for developing a novel electrochemical packed bed reactor technology for removing heavy metals from water.

The AmritaCREATE Team of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, is one of eight semifinalists advancing in the $7 million Barbara Bush Foundation Adult Literacy XPRIZE presented by Dollar General Literacy Foundation. The Adult Literacy XPRIZE is a global competition, challenging teams to develop a mobile application for existing smart devices that results in the greatest increase in literacy skills among participating adult learners.

(final year BTech), Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, developed an Android App, ‘Wall on”, which has been adjudged as one among the Top 10 Best Android Apps for July, 2017, by TechworkZ online global community of Android App developers.
