On January 26, 2016, Amrita Sanjeevani, the seva association of Amritapuri campus, conducted a clean-up drive at Taluk Hospital, Karunagapally.
Amala Bharatam volunteers of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM) completed the two-day cleaning drive at Sabarimala, Pampa and the traditional trekking path on Sunday afternoon. 2,000 volunteers take part in the two-day intensive cleaning drive. This is for the seventh time the Amala Bharathom team has been undertaking the cleaning program at Sabarimala. P. Venkat Rangan, Vice-Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and District Collector S. Harikishore also took part in the cleaning drive.
Five years ago, a group of socially committed Amritians decided to conduct a cycle rally. This September 22nd, 2015 marked its 5th prolific edition. In the current juncture when the world is finding it difficult to cope with escalating air pollution, the event was really relevant. September 22nd is celebrated as “world car free day” and as a part of it, Amrita Sanjeevani, the seva organisation at Amritapuri Campus, conducted a cycle rally and 10 km fun run from Karunagapally to Amritapuri.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's Amritapuri Campus will observe World Car Free Day on September 22 by conducting a bicycle rally from Karunagappally to the campus involving many students and staff.
