Candidates seeking admission to the 4-Year B.Des (Interior Design) program must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Completing 10+2 (or equivalent) in any stream from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
  • Candidates with a creative aptitude and interest in design are encouraged to apply.
  • A valid score in Amrita’s Design Aptitude Test (ADAT) or equivalent national-level aptitude tests (like UCEED or NID-DAT) is preferred.

Amrita Design Aptitude Test (ADAT) will be conducted on May 17th and 18th, 2025.
Exam Centers: Amaravati, Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Chennai, Nagercoil, Faridabad, Kochi.
Candidates can choose their preferred center on Application portal.

The selection process for admission to the 4-Year B.Des (Interior Design) program at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham involves:

  • Online Application: Fill out the application form available on the official website.
  • Amrita Design Aptitude Test (ADAT): Appear for the test to evaluate your creativity, problem-solving skills, and understanding of design concepts. Or upload valid scores of UCEED/NID-DAT.
  • Portfolio Review (optional): Submission of a portfolio showcasing the applicant’s creative work is encouraged but not mandatory.
  • Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with the faculty panel to assess their passion for design and potential.

ADAT- Amrita Design Aptitude Test

The Amrita Design Aptitude Test (Amrita DAT) is the entrance examination for the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in Interior Design program at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. The exam assesses a candidate’s aptitude in design, creativity, and analytical skills.​
