In an effort to provide support to our teachers, equipping them with the right tools, and knowledge to foster a positive classroom climate, the Amrita CREATE team conducted the first two-day workshop addressing “Students Safety and Well-being in Schools” at Amrita Vidyalayam, Hyderabad, on 9th and 10th of June. This teacher training model is aligned with UN SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
To equip educators with essential tools for fostering a safe and supportive environment for students, the workshop covered a comprehensive range of modules. These included strategies for addressing teen relationships and preventing exploitation, effective methods for tackling and preventing bullying, and guidance on navigating the complexities of the digital age and the impact of social media. Furthermore, the workshop delved into laws and interventions for child protection, focused on naming and understanding sexual exploitation, and provided insights into creating safe spaces that address gender and sexual identity awareness among educators.
The training aims to help our teachers learn, unlearn, and relearn behavioral patterns, fostering key interpersonal skills like empathy, non-judgment, active listening, and confidentiality. Our team is committed to creating an environment where every student feels heard, seen, valued, and understood.
Our vision is to create a world where individuals coexist harmoniously, embracing differences with acceptance and respect to reduce conflict. Teachers were recognized with certificates for their participation in this important workshop.
