The session aimed to raise awareness among adolescents about the harmful effects of tobacco, betel nut, alcohol, and drug abuse, empowering them to make informed choices and become health ambassadors in their communities.
The event began with student-led presentations by trained Adolescent Awareness Ambassadors, promoting an engaging, peer-to-peer learning approach. Ambassador Lalbiakhluna (Class 10) delivered an insightful presentation on Tobacco Awareness, explaining its adverse health, psychological, and social consequences through real-life examples and interactive discussion.
Ambassador Lalruatsangi (Class 9) followed with a talk on the harmful effects of betel nut consumption, emphasizing the importance of making healthier lifestyle choices from an early age.
To reinforce these important messages, the ambassadors staged a short skit that dramatized the effects of substance abuse on individuals and families. The performance, both impactful and engaging, left a lasting impression on the audience.
A post-session survey on alcohol and drug awareness further encouraged students to reflect on their learnings and share their perspectives. The ambassadors showcased strong teamwork and leadership by organizing and managing the survey efficiently.
The session received wholehearted support from school faculty members, whose coordination and encouragement contributed to the success of the program. The event concluded with refreshments and informal discussions, fostering deeper engagement and connection between the facilitators and students.
Project Coordinators Mr. Pushkar Joshi and Ms. Janet Lalremruati led the initiative, ensuring a smooth and impactful execution. The DL & AAA Team continues to play a pivotal role in building awareness, leadership, and community engagement among adolescents through its series of outreach sessions.
