Job description

  •  We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team.

  • The ideal candidate will play a key role in cleaning, analysing, and summarising complex datasets collected from surveys, interviews, mobile applications and secondary data sources
Key Responsibilities

  • Clean, transform, and validate raw survey and app-collected data for use in analysis and visualisation.

  • Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analysis to extract insights from datasets.

  • Develop clear, concise data summaries and reports for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with the dashboard development team to ensure data accuracy and clarity in visualisations.

  • Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in the data to inform social science research questions.

  • Document data processes, code, and analysis logic for reproducibility and transparency.

  • Support the design and continuous improvement of data pipelines and workflow automation.
Technical Skills

  • Proven experience with data cleaning and preprocessing in Python, R, or similar languages.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, or similar).

  • Experience working with large, messy, or incomplete datasets.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with survey methodologies and data collection processes.

  • Experience with database systems (SQL, PostgreSQL)

  • Knowledge of APIs or tools for app data integration. 

  • Experience in social science research or public sector analytics. 

  • Familiarity with ethical handling of sensitive and personal data.
