Dr. Manoj Bhat K. currently serves as an Assistant Professor at School of Artificial Intelligence, Coimbatore campus.
During my tenure at Manipal School of Life Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, I engaged in a wide range of academic and research activities. These included: a) implementing a Computational Biology module for the BSc program and coordinating the MSc program in Bioinformatics; b) managing dissertation projects for both BSc and MSc students; c) assisting faculty with the computational aspects of their research; and d) pursuing my PhD, which I completed in 2024 with a focus on “Systems Biology of the One Carbon Pathway.” My doctoral research involved designing and evaluating a mathematical model for a one-carbon metabolic pathway based on reaction kinetics and developing systems biology-based genomic confounding variables through contiguous flux analysis. Additionally, I curated the 1CMDb database, an online interactive tool intended for study, text mining, and informatics analysis. My research led to several published manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. My undergraduate and postgraduate projects encompassed gene expression studies, microarray data analysis, NGS and omics technologies, and database construction. I have developed strong analytical, relationship management, problem-solving, and leadership skills, along with effective communication abilities.
