Bio

A master’s in management and PhD in Science Policy, Dr Nimita Pandey is working at the Dept. Of Social Data Science and Policy and Centre for Women Empowerment and Gender Equality, at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (University), Faridabad Campus. She has a postdoctoral fellowship from the DST-Centre for policy research at IISc, Bengaluru.

Before joining Amrita University, she was associated with several organizations in different capacities, including the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India (GoI); UNESCO New Delhi, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad and Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi.

She has contributed to global, national and state policy processes, including co-leading the ‘Education and Skill Development’ subtheme of the C20 Working Groupon ‘Gender Equality’, under India’s G20 Presidency; leading the chapter on Equity and Inclusion in the forthcoming 5th National STI Policy of India as well as in State S&T policy of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Dr Nimita has worked on various projects and policy development initiatives supported by national and international organizations, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the World Bank, the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), the European Commission, and others. She is a member of several professional associations, including the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), the Global Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building Systems (GLOBELICS), and the Science and Democracy Network (SDN), based in Harvard University.
