Representatives from AMMACHI Labs — Ajay Balakrishnan, Associate Director, AMMACHI Labs, and Gayathri Manikutty, Senior Researcher — visited the Larsen & Toubro Construction Skills Training Institute (CSTI) in Chacharwadi, Ahmedabad. The visit marked an important step toward exploring collaborative opportunities in advancing technology-enabled construction skill development.
The team engaged in insightful discussions with Mr. Ajaya Kumar Das, Senior Deputy General Manager and Head of CSTI Ahmedabad, Mr. Chinmay Kumar Swain, Manager at CSTI Ahmedabad, and other members of the CSTI team. Conversations centered on understanding the institute’s training processes across various trades and identifying how emerging technologies can further enhance the quality and efficiency of these programs.
A key highlight of the visit was the detailed discussion on the upcoming Bar Bending Simulator Version 3, focusing on its innovative features, improved training integration, and practical field applications. The new version aims to significantly elevate construction training standards and better prepare the workforce for real-world scenarios.
This initiative aligns strongly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption & Production), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) — highlighting AMMACHI Labs’ commitment to scalable, impactful, and sustainable skill development.
AMMACHI Labs extends heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Das, Mr. Swain, and the entire CSTI team for their warm hospitality and collaborative engagement. This visit sets the stage for strengthened partnerships and impactful advancements in construction skills education.
