Amrita College of Nursing celebrated its 23rd anniversary with inspiring sessions and activities that blended social awareness, reflection, and student participation.
As part of the celebration, a special session on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was organized to highlight the increasing concern of substance abuse and the need for awareness among youth. The session featured Mr. Niju P. N., Member, Special Investigation Team, DIG Office, Ernakulam, who shared his insights on the issue and the importance of community vigilance.
The programme was inaugurated by Sri. Rishiraj Singh IPS (Retd.), former Director General of Police, Kerala, who urged students to stay alert and informed. “Awareness and education are the strongest defences against addiction,” he said.
Dr. K. T. Moly, Principal, Amrita College of Nursing, addressed the gathering, reflecting on the institution’s 23-year journey and its continued efforts to combine professional excellence with social responsibility. Dr. Sabitha M., Principal, Amrita School of Pharmacy, offered felicitations and congratulated the college community for its sustained achievements.

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Dr. Anila K. P., Head, Department of Child Health Nursing, highlighted the vital role of healthcare professionals in prevention, rehabilitation, and creating awareness about substance abuse.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, awards were presented to SNA state-level winners, and the college magazine and newsletter were officially released, showcasing academic achievements and student contributions.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Nidhin Elias, Head of the Department of Community Health Nursing, and a cultural performance by students and faculty.
The 23rd anniversary celebrations reflected the college’s ongoing commitment to developing socially responsible healthcare professionals and spreading community awareness through education.
