Amrita CREATE Conducts Capacity Building Program for Teachers

Amrita CREATE successfully conducted a new round of training under its Capacity Building Program (CBP) for Teachers, reinforcing our commitment to strengthening the teaching ecosystem through value-based, learner-centred professional development. The program was hosted at Amrita Vidyalayam, Mangalore, on July 31 and August 1, 2025, and later at Amrita Vidyalayam, Belagavi, on August 5 and 6, 2025.

This edition of the program focused on Domain 1: Core Values and Ethics, a key component of the CBSE Guidelines for Teacher Development. Designed in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the global mandate of SDG 4 (Quality Education), the sessions aimed to help teachers cultivate classrooms that are compassionate, respectful, and empowering.

Program Focus and Learning Themes

The training brought teachers together to rethink and refine how they support today’s learners. Key areas explored included:

  • Understanding Students: Teachers learned strategies to better understand each child’s unique mindset, background, and learning pace, enabling more personalized support.
  • Empowering Learners: Sessions emphasized giving students greater agency—helping them take ownership of their educational journeys through reflective and participatory practices.
  • Prioritizing Wellness: The program highlighted the importance of mental health, emotional safety, and holistic well-being in shaping successful learning environments.
  • Engaging Learning Experiences: Educators were introduced to activity-based, experiential, and inclusive instructional methods that move beyond rote memorization toward meaningful engagement.
  • CBSE-Aligned Pedagogy: The curriculum drew from essential CBSE modules such as Adolescent EducationInclusive Education, and Happy Classrooms, ensuring relevance and classroom-ready applicability.

Impact and Participation

Through reflective discussions, hands-on activities, and collaborative exchange of ideas, teachers enhanced their capacity to build safe, supportive, and dynamic learning spaces. This initiative marks a significant step toward adapting to the evolving needs of education and preparing every student to thrive academically and emotionally.

The program was expertly facilitated by Ms. Neeraja M.S., who guided 46 teachers in bringing these important conversations to life.
