Amrita Health Sciences Campus, Kochi, has been honored by the Indian Pharmacopoeia, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, for its outstanding contribution to the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI). The Regional Training Centre (RTC) and Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Monitoring Centre at Amrita received the Certificate of Appreciation for the financial year 2024–25, marking the third consecutive year of national recognition for excellence in pharmacovigilance.
The RTC at Amrita plays a pivotal role in strengthening pharmacovigilance activities across Kerala, conducting regular training sessions, sensitization workshops, and awareness initiatives. These programs empower healthcare professionals and the public to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines, thereby enhancing patient safety outcomes.
Amrita’s ADR Monitoring Centre has consistently ranked among the Top Performing Centres in India for three consecutive years — a reflection of its excellence in reporting, monitoring, and analysing adverse drug reactions, and its steadfast support of IPC’s mission to strengthen national drug safety surveillance.
Beyond pharmacovigilance, Amrita’s RTC also contributes significantly to materiovigilance, hemovigilance, AEFI (Adverse Events Following Immunization), and other targeted areas of vigilance. The Pharmacovigilance Centre, functioning under the Amrita Medication Safety Centre, brings together multidisciplinary experts to ensure holistic medication safety across healthcare domains.
