Ms. Gayathri Pothancheri, a PhD Scholar in Cognitive Science & Technology at Amrita School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, presented her research at the Embassy of India Tokyo as part of the India–Japan Science, Technology & Innovation Year 2025–2026 celebrations and National Science Day events themed “Women in Science.”
Working under the guidance of Dr. Bhavani Rao, Gayathri showcased her research titled “Exploring AI Competency of Teachers through Multimodal Learning Analytics.” The study highlights how multimodal data—such as interaction-based indicators—can be effectively used to assess and enhance teachers’ readiness for AI-integrated classrooms.
Her participation in this prestigious international event was made possible with the support of Shashi Kant Shankar, whose contributions played a key role in facilitating this opportunity.
The research underscores a growing shift in the education landscape, where data-driven learning analytics are becoming essential tools in preparing educators for rapidly evolving, technology-enabled learning environments. By leveraging insights from diverse data sources, the study contributes to building more adaptive and responsive teaching ecosystems.
This presentation not only highlights the global engagement of scholars from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham but also reinforces the importance of women’s participation and leadership in advancing science and technology.
