September 17, 2025: Amritapuri / New Delhi: Two faculty members from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship among young minds in India. Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Professor at the Amrita School of Computing, and Prof. Gayathri Manikutty, faculty member at AMMACHI Labs, have been conferred the prestigious Regional Mentor of Change (RMoC) title by the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, Government of India, for the period 2025–2027.
The recognition was presented during the Mentor India Round Table 2025, held on September 17, 2025, by Dr. Deepak Bagla, Mission Director of Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.
This honor acknowledges their pro-bono volunteering and sustained engagement with Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) over the past five consecutive years. Out of a nationwide pool of nearly 6,500 mentors, only 125 professionals were selected as Regional Mentors of Change, highlighting the significance of this achievement.
As Regional Mentors of Change under India’s Atal Innovation Mission, Prof. Gayathri Manikutty and Dr. Prashant R. Nair have played a pivotal role in identifying and nurturing school-level STEM talent, mentoring students on innovative projects, and encouraging a culture of problem-solving and entrepreneurship across different regions of the country. Their guidance has empowered young learners to think creatively, apply technology for social good, and translate ideas into impactful solutions.
This recognition underscores Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s continued commitment to innovation-driven education, community engagement, and national development.
Congratulations to Prof. Gayathri Manikutty and Dr. Prashant R. Nair on this well-deserved honor!
