Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has entered into a partnership with the University of Bath, UK, to advance joint research, academic exchange, and higher learning opportunities in biotechnology.
As part of the agreement, students from Amrita will first complete a master’s programme in India, followed by progression to the University of Bath’s Faculty of Science to pursue a master’s in biotechnology. The collaboration is designed to combine the academic strengths of both institutions, offering students access to world-class teaching, state-of-the-art research facilities, and diverse international learning environments.
Dr. Bipin Nair, Dean of the School of Biotechnology at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, described the initiative as a “win-win-win for all”, emphasising that students will gain from Bath’s internationally recognised faculty while building on the strong foundation provided by Amrita’s established programmes and experienced educators.
Prof. Duncan Craig, Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Bath, remarked: “We are very excited to be developing this relationship with Amrita University. Our educational values and institutional goals, particularly in supporting the next generation of leaders, are very much aligned. This relationship will benefit both universities, our students, and the wider community.”
The first cohort of Amrita students will join the University of Bath in the 2025–26 academic year, marking the start of what both institutions envision as a long-term and mutually enriching partnership.
