Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Professor Awarded EU-Funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Fellowship enabling Advanced Scientific Research systems

Dr. Bipin Balaram, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has been granted the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellowship — one of the most competitive and globally recognized research grants. Funded by the European Union, the fellowship carries a total value of approximately Rs. 3 crores.

The competition this year was exceptionally intense, with a record total of 17,066 proposals submitted. Dr. Bipin’s proposal received a perfect score of 100% from the evaluation committee — a rare and distinguished achievement. Notably, only 3 out of 2,915 applications in the engineering panel were awarded a perfect score.

The fellowship provides full funding for Dr. Bipin to undertake independent research for a period of two years at his host institution, the University of Glasgow, UK. At Glasgow, he will work on chaotic dynamics based broadband energy harvesting from deep ocean waves for powering marine IoT devices.

At present Dr Bipin is doing his PDF at Department of Automation, Biomechanics and Mechatronics, Lodz University of Technology, Poland.
