Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and LG Soft India signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance collaborative research and development in software engineering and cybersecurity. The signing ceremony on Amrita’s Coimbatore campus was attended by Dr. Venkat Rangan (Vice Chancellor), Dr. P. Ajith Kumar (Registrar), Dr. Sasangan Ramanathan (Dean, Faculty of Engineering) and Prof. M. Sethumadhavan (Centre Head, TIFAC-CORE in Cyber Security) from Amrita, alongside Mr. SungHyun Cho (President), and Dr. Sumit Gautam (R&D Division) from LG Soft India.
Central to this partnership is the newly inaugurated LG Soft–Amrita Software Engineering Research Lab (LASER), sponsored under CSR programme. Designed as a cutting-edge hub, LASER will foster collaborative research, drive the creation of impactful publications and patents, and serve as a vital training ground. Equipped with advanced infrastructure, it will immerse students and researchers in practical, real-world scenarios through hands-on training, internships, workshops, and hackathons.
Highlighting the partnership’s core benefit, Dr. Venkat Rangan, Vice Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, stated, “This partnership bridges industry best practices with academic rigor. LASER will empower our students and faculty to develop breakthrough solutions and drive India’s digital transformation.” Mr. SungHyun Cho, President of LG Soft India, emphasized the collaborative aspect, adding, “We look forward to co-creating innovative technologies that leverage Amrita’s research strengths alongside LG Soft’s technological expertise.
