The 2nd Foundation recently organized a Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship Workshop from October 30th to November 3rd, 2025, for the Career Intelligence and Research (CIR) Department faculty at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus. The engaging program was conducted as part of the department’s Faculty Development Program (FDP), aimed at enhancing creative problem-solving and entrepreneurial capabilities among educators.
A total of 17 faculty members participated enthusiastically in hands-on sessions that inspired them to think innovatively, identify real-world challenges, and design user-centric solutions. Participants explored structured ideation tools such as SCAMPER, learned the fundamentals of business modeling, and developed innovative concepts addressing authentic needs within educational and social contexts.
The workshop featured collaborative brainstorming sessions, team-based design challenges, and pitch presentations, all of which showcased remarkable creativity, teamwork, and a willingness to move beyond traditional academic frameworks. The energy and engagement throughout the sessions made the learning experience dynamic, insightful, and highly impactful.
To promote inclusivity and empowerment, the program offered a 15% fee concession for female participants, encouraging greater representation and gender equity in innovation-driven initiatives.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). By nurturing innovative thinking, enabling equal access to learning opportunities, and promoting design-based problem-solving, the workshop reflects Amrita University’s ongoing commitment to building a more inclusive and innovation-oriented academic culture.
