Innovations through Amrita: Aligning with ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ at ESTIC 2025

A remarkable impact was made by Amrita through showcasing our multidisciplinary innovations and technologies at the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC 2025). Aligned with supporting the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, the event was held from November 03-05, 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, and became a major national level platform for India’s achievements in these rapidly advancing fields.

ESTIC 2025 was organized by the Govt of India’s Department of Science and Technology, guided by its Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor, and included collaboration with 12 other key ministries and departments.

Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated the conclave in the presence of Nobel Laureate Professor Andre Geim from the University of Manchester, alongside policymakers and innovators from across the world.

Amrita’s passion for compassion-driven research and sustainable technological advancement was delivered to the world through our exhibition stall. Amrita’s team attracted and engaged global audiences with our exceptional work across a wide range of domains. Innovations included healthcare, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, robotics and drones, and climate resilience which orient with national and global development goals.

“Artificial Intelligence enhances human intelligence and addresses large-scale societal challenges such as healthcare delivery, disaster prediction, education, and sustainable development,” shared Dr. P. Venkat Rangan, Vice Chancellor of Amrita, during a panel discussion on AI.

“We aim to make sure that AI research not only advances technology but also improves humanity through ethical and compassionate application.”

Dr. Sasangan Ramanathan, Dean of Academics and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Material Sciences at Amrita, appreciated the government’s launch of Research, Development, Innovation (RDI Cell) scheme fund, as it welcomes encouragement towards Indian companies investing in R&D, thereby promoting product development in India.

Meanwhile, Dr. P. Rammanohar, Research Director, Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda, School of Ayurveda, Amritapuri, took part in a panel discussion on emerging health and medical technologies. He emphasised how Ayurveda’s ancient practices can be integrated in today’s world.

“Amrita’s approach connects traditional knowledge systems with modern science. At ESTIC 2025, our research showed how evidence-based Ayurveda and modern technology can come together to create innovative healthcare models for preventive and personalized medicine,” he said.

The conclave’s focus on emerging sectors allowed our researchers to strengthen relationships with national and international partners, opening new opportunities for collaborative research, technology transfer, and public-private partnerships that support India’s innovation goals.

Amrita will continue to stand with the nation in advancing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, where research, sustainability, and technology for societal benefits are embedded in our mission to unite academic excellence, compassion, and innovation in the service of humanity.
