Samaramabham 2025 Welcomes New Batch of Students to the School of Arts, Humanities & Commerce, Kochi Campus

Amrita University warmly welcomed over six hundred new students for the academic year during the Samaramabham 2025 event, held at the Brahmasthanam campus. The event was inaugurated by Dr. U. Krishnakumar, the Campus Director and Dean, who extended a warm welcome to the incoming students. Swami Purnamritanandapuri, General Secretary of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, delivered the blessing speech at the ceremony.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. B. Ashok, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Kerala, Department of Agriculture, and Vice Chancellor of Kerala Agricultural University. Dr. Shantikumar Nair, Head of the School of Nano Science and Molecular Medicine at Amrita, presided over the event.

The distinguished guests who addressed the students included Dr. Narayanan Menon Komerath, former Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, Dr. Sharath Menon, former Professor of Sociology and India Studies at the University of Houston, USA, and Dr. P. Rajasekhar, researcher at Kerala School of Mathematics and former Structural Design Engineer and Chief Engineer at FACT Kochi.

The event also saw the presence of the students’ parents, who joined their children for the grand occasion. During the Samaramabham 2025 event, the launch of the IKS Magazine and Amritakiran Photo Log was held, with Swami Purnamritanandapuri officiating the release. Dr. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Vice Principal of Amrita School of Arts, Humanities & Commerce, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
