December 5, 2025: The Amrita Self-Help Group (SHG) successfully completed an order for 25 custom-made laptop bags for the Centre for Internet Studies and Artificial Intelligence (CISAI), Faridabad, Haryana. The production team finalized stitching, conducted detailed quality checks, and completed the packing process on December 5, 2025.

Each laptop bag was handcrafted by SHG members, reflecting the group’s commitment to high-quality workmanship and precision. The order highlights the growing capabilities of Amrita SHG in producing durable, functional, and professional products that meet institutional requirements.

This collaboration with CISAI further strengthens the SHG’s presence in skill-based microenterprise activities and showcases the potential of women-led production units in delivering timely and reliable orders.

The completed consignment is now ready for dispatch to CISAI, reinforcing the SHG’s dedication to empowering women through sustainable livelihood opportunities and quality-driven production.

Ardhra, a 2025 graduate of the Vishwakarma program, worked on intricate sunflower embroidery for an international order placed by Anirban. The detailed handwork showcases her expertise in traditional embroidery techniques and reflects the high quality of craftsmanship nurtured through the Vishwakarma initiative.

Working from Karunagappally in Kollam district, Ardhra’s contribution highlights the growing global demand for handcrafted artisan products from local communities. Her involvement in this international assignment reiterates the program’s mission of empowering skilled graduates and connecting them to worldwide markets.

This milestone stands as a testament to how training, talent, and traditional skills can create meaningful economic opportunities for young artisans.

Kollam, December 11, 2025: A group of enthusiastic 12th-grade students and teachers from Amrita Vidyalayam School, Davangere, Karnataka, visited the WE (Women Empowerment) Products Exhibition held at Valliakavu, Kollam. The visit generated great excitement and appreciation as the students explored the wide range of sustainable, handmade products created by women’s self-help groups.

During the interaction, many students and teachers inquired whether the showcased items were exclusively for exhibition or available for purchase. Their interest and positive feedback highlighted the growing appeal and impact of the WE product line. The team also recorded sales amounting to ₹990 during the visit, reflecting strong support from the visitors.

The exhibition continues to inspire and raise awareness about women-led livelihood initiatives, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of local women artisans.

Bengaluru, December 5, 2025: On December 4th, Radhika Shetty from the WE STORE project had the privilege of attending the Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI) 2025, held in Bengaluru from December 2–5. She was joined by Dr. Bhavani Rao, Director of AMMACHI Labs, along with Dr. Srividya, Dr. Drishti, Lekha S., and Manju.

GHCI 2025 served as an inspiring platform uniting women technologists, innovators, and leaders from across India. This year’s event brought together more than 8,000 women and allies in technology, making it one of Asia’s largest women-in-tech gatherings. With over 300 speakers and more than 150 sessions, the conference highlighted advancements in engineering, research, leadership, and emerging technologies.

The AMMACHI Labs delegation engaged in insightful discussions, explored cutting-edge tech trends, and built meaningful professional connections. Their participation is expected to further strengthen the university’s academic and research ecosystem while deepening the team’s commitment to empowering women in technology.

December 23, 2025: AMMACHI Labs and CWEGE have begun the final stages of sample production for Tula the Label, an Australian ethical clothing brand celebrated for its commitment to sustainable and conscious fashion. On December 23rd, the stitching team prepared the final sample to be shipped to Australia for review.

Sumalakshmi Chechi, one of the skilled artisans at AMMACHI Labs, is currently working on a V-neck elastic-hand dress as part of the Tula production line. Her craftsmanship represents the exceptional talent and dedication of women artisans contributing to global ethical fashion initiatives.

This collaboration highlights AMMACHI Labs’ growing role in supporting sustainable, women-led livelihood opportunities, while bringing handcrafted Indian textiles to international markets.

December 24, 2025: The final round of quality checking for the Ashram Christmas program costume order was completed on December 24, 2025. Aswathy Chechi and Sreeshma Chechi worked with exceptional dedication to fulfill the diverse costume requirements for the event.

The order included a variety of outfits such as Muslim attire, Buddhist attire, Nun attire, and children’s costumes. Despite the tight deadline, the team efficiently stitched and finished all costumes on time, ensuring timely delivery for the Christmas celebrations.

Their commitment and craftsmanship reflect the strength and reliability of the stitching unit, which continues to support community events with high-quality, handmade garments.
