Marking World Meditation Day, members of the AMMACHI Labs Wadi team, along with local Wadi farmers, came together at Tantichira Village in the Hindol Block of Dhenkanal district, Odisha, to observe the day through reflection, silence, and collective meditation.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the awakening of inner awareness. This was followed by Amma’s Mā-Om meditation, which gently guided participants into a shared space of stillness and mindfulness. The meditation created a serene atmosphere, fostering calmness not only within the participants’ minds but also in the surrounding natural environment.
The observance reflected Amma’s teachings on the importance of turning inward during moments of distress and finding strength through meditation and spiritual companionship. As Amma has often said:
“No matter who causes you grief, take your complaints to the meditation room, where your real friend is. In addition to your husband or wife, you should have a friend—and that friend should be God. Even if your husband or wife makes you unhappy, tell that to God, and not to anyone else. If your neighbour picks a fight with you, go to the meditation room and complain, ‘Why did you let him treat me like that? Weren’t you with me?’ Open your heart and tell God everything. Then it becomes a satsang.”
For the Wadi farmers and the AMMACHI Labs team, the World Meditation Day gathering served as a reminder of the power of inner silence, emotional resilience, and spiritual connection, reinforcing the role of meditation as a tool for personal well-being and community harmony.
