Dr. Dietmar Jennewein, a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Plastics Engineering, University of Applied Sciences, Darmstadt, Germany visited the Amritapuri and Coimbatore campuses in early 2016.
Brave New Woman in a Brave New World is a series of sensitization programs planned for B.Tech. female students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Coimbatore campus. A program held on April 6,2016, helped the students to understand and appreciate the role of young women personally and in society.

Technical project internships are being opened from 2016 summer under various research topics, and will be offered regularly henceforth. Dr. Sivasena Reddy, Assistant Professor (S.Gr.), Department of Civil Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, was invited by National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj (NIRD &PR), Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, to present a research paper on “Regionalization of Watersheds for Prediction of Runoff in Unguaged Basins Using Clustering Analysis, Geospatial Techniques and SWAT Model” at the National Seminar on Geoinformatics Application in Natural Resource Management (NSGANM-2016).
Dr. Sreevalsa Kolathayar, Assistant Professor (SG), Department of Civil Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, was invited by the President, Indian Society of Earthquake Technology (ISET), IIT Roorkee, to be a special invitee to the 184th Executive Committee Meeting of the ISET held on 2ndMarch 2016, at IIT Roorkee.
