Dr. Jomit T. Mathew is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Physics, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University, with research focused on marine polysaccharide-based electrospun nanofibers for multifunctional applications spanning environmental remediation, biomedical engineering, and energy systems.
His research expertise lies in electrospinning of polymeric nanofibers, sustainable material design, and functional nanomaterials. He has hands-on experience with advanced characterization techniques, including FT-IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV–Visible spectroscopy, gas chromatography (GC), universal testing machine, etc., enabling comprehensive structure–property analysis.
Dr. Mathew is the co-author of two undergraduate-level textbooks aligned with the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala curriculum, reflecting his strong commitment to teaching and academic development. He is also the inventor of two Indian design patents related to electrospinning devices, highlighting his contributions to instrumentation development and innovation.
With a background that integrates research, teaching, and technology development, his work focuses on creating scalable, eco-friendly materials for real-world applications in water treatment, healthcare, and energy.
