Amrita International School of Law, Coimbatore, has established its Centre for Environmental Laws (ACEL)—a research and action-oriented centre dedicated to advancing environmental protection and environmental justice.
The Centre was inaugurated by Justice Chettoor Sankaran Nair, whose landmark contributions shaped India’s environmental jurisprudence, including the recognition of the Right to a Clean and Healthy Environment as part of the Right to Life.
Rooted in constitutional values, sustainability ethics, and inspired by Amma’s vision ACEL aims to strengthen legal scholarship and promote meaningful environmental justice.
