September 23rd & 24th 2015, marked the third annual International Conference on Sustainable Development held at Columbia University in New York City. The conference’s theme, Implementing the SDGs: Getting Started had riveting discussions concerning the United Nation’s latest endeavour to launch the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Ms. Evie Evangelou founder of Fashion 4 Development (F4D) awarded Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) the “Medal of Honour” for more than 25 years of humanitarian work in the fields of human rights, health and well-being, including food, access to water and power, housing, medical care, and the right to education and skill-training.
The students of School of Arts and Sciences, Kochi campus, visited the “Mathruchaya” orphanage on September 22, 2015. Carrying with them a bunch of gifts, they spent an evening with more than 50 inmates. Lady inmates of the adjoining orphanage Madhavam also joined the gathering.
