As part of its continuous efforts to promote community wellness through traditional knowledge systems, the Science, Technology & Innovation (STI) Hub – Ayurveda Team, with support from the DL & AAA Team, successfully organized a Free Medical Camp with Prakriti Assessment at the Tuirial Airfield Community Hall. The camp, held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., focused on raising awareness about preventive health and the holistic principles of Ayurveda among local residents.
The initiative offered free medical consultations and essential health screenings, including weight measurement, blood pressure monitoring, and random blood sugar testing, helping participants understand their health status and identify potential risk factors.
A key highlight of the camp was the Prakriti Assessment, an Ayurvedic approach to identifying an individual’s unique body constitution — Vata, Pitta, or Kapha, or a combination thereof. Based on these findings, participants received personalized lifestyle and dietary advice, enabling them to adopt daily habits aligned with their natural constitution.
In addition, free Ayurvedic medicines were distributed according to each participant’s health condition and Prakriti type, promoting natural healing and holistic wellness.
A total of 44 participants attended the camp, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the opportunity to access quality healthcare in Tuirial, a remote region on the outskirts of Aizawl with limited medical facilities.
The camp not only strengthened the community’s understanding of Ayurveda but also highlighted its relevance in today’s preventive health landscape. The initiative contributes directly to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through such outreach efforts, the STI Hub – Ayurveda Team continues its mission of empowering communities with accessible, sustainable, and culturally rooted healthcare solutions.
