The students of School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, were awarded the second prize in the Python Innovation Day – Intel Python Hack Fury by Intel Software. The event was held at IISER Pune from September 6-7, 2018.
Students from the School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, participated in the European Mars Rover Challenge (ERC) 2018, one of the biggest international space and robotics events in the world. It took place in Starachowice, Poland from September 14-16, 2018.
After a string of super successes, ‘Team Vision’, a student team from Department of Computer Science & Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, added yet another feather in its cap by winning the Rajasthan Online Hackathon 2018, organized by the Government of Rajasthan from July 6-8, 2018.
The Graduation Ceremony of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, was held on August 31, 2018, in the Main Hall of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Amritapuri.
The final year students from the Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs, Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering (ECE), School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, won First Prize and Sponsors’ Best Prize at RoboCon 2018. RoboCon18 is an international robotic design contest, and was held at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, from August 6-18, 2018.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham announced the graduation ceremony details. The events will include awarding PhD, PG and UG degrees of all programs offered at its various campuses.
Prof. Prashant R. Nair, Vice Chairperson and Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, was appointed as Treasurer for the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Coimbatore Chapter, on July 31, 2018.
The one-day workshop on “Earthquake Hazard, Risk and Mitigation: Theory and Practice”, organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, was inaugurated on August 10, 2018 at the campus.

Ms. Sowmiya N. and Ms. Pramothini Sekar of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, received pre-placement offers for positions as Software Engineers from Intuit, a multi-national company, where the students completed their summer internship.
