Amrita Students Win Second Prize in Intel Python Hack Fury

The students of School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, were awarded the second prize in the Python Innovation Day – Intel Python Hack Fury by Intel Software. The event was held at IISER Pune from September 6-7, 2018. The team won Rs. 1 Lakhs as prize money.

The students were part of Team “Ware’o’Sys”. They won the prize for creating a drone-based warehouse monitoring system. The team was guided by Dr. Shriram K. Vasudevan, Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus.

The Python Innovation Day- Hackathon, a live event and hackathon – where all the selected teams present their ideas, case studies that help solve real-world problems through Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL) and their prototypes – that are built with Intel’s latest technologies & showcase how they saw efficiency and performance improvement on AWS Cloud using Intel Distribution of Python and Intel Architectures for Machine Learning & Deep Learning. The event saw senior technical experts and distinguished dignitaries addressing the audience and judged the groups and awarded most deserving innovators that have participated in this three-month-long hackathon. The audience also saw live demonstrations from Intel experts on the usability of Intel distribution of Python in various environments for achieving out of the box performance with ease and efficiency.
