The students and faculty of the School of Business, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi, took part in an environmental initiative by planting 4 saplings in the college premises on July 11, 2019.
The School of Business, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi, organized multiple sessions on the Union Budget 2019 to benefit the students. After the preparatory sessions by faculty members, the budget presentation was live streamed.
The inauguration of the academic activities of the School of Arts & Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, for 2019 was held on June 26, 2019. The inauguration of Vidyamritam Extramural lectures (17th Annual Extramural Expert Lecture series) and activities of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was also held on the same day.
The students of the Department of Visual Media and Communication, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, won first prize for their documentary ‘Prathichaya’ at the 12th International Documentary & Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK) held at Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala, from June 21-26, 2019.
Dr. R. Venkitachalam, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry, School of Dentistry, Amrita Health Sciences, Kochi, won the Best Paper Award for the paper titled “Effectiveness of Laser over Conventional Techniques for the Clinical and Radiographic Outcomes of Primary Molar Pulpotomy: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis” at the National Symposium on Evidence Synthesis for Medicine, Public Health & Social Development held at India Habitat Center, New Delhi, from April 10-12, 2019.
Amrita Hospital, Kochi, received Kerala State Pollution Control Board’s Best Environmental Practice Award 2019 in the hospital sector for its sustained efforts to control pollution and environmental protection. Amrita Hospital has been conferred this award for the fifth consecutive year.
Dr. Balu Vaidyanathan, Professor, Pediatric Cardiology, and Dr. Balaganesh Karmegaraj, Post DM Fellow, Pediatric Cardiology, represented the Fetal Cardiology Division, Department of Pediatric Cardiology, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, in the 53rd Annual Meeting of the Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology (AEPC) at Seville, Spain held from May 15 – 18, 2019.
Ms. Aswathy Anilkumar, first year M. Sc. MLT, Pathology Specialization, won the first position in the Oral Presentation titled “Acquired Hemophilia- The Role of Laboratory in Diagnosis and Management” at the LABORION -2019 – National CME on Recent Advances in MLT, organized by Government Medical College, Trivandrum, on May 29, 2019.
