Amrita Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE) takes pride in having organized ‘InternMela’ on April 11, 2015, first of its kind internship drive in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, the motto of which was ‘to give a platform for the students to experimentally learn the organizational structure and understand the culture of entrepreneurial world’.
Surya Seetharaman, a third year B.Tech CSE student from the Amritapuri campus, was recently awarded a fully-funded merit scholarship to complete her Master’s degree at KTH – Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. Currently enrolled in the Integrated 3+2 program, a collaborative initiative between Amrita and KTH, Surya was one among 55 awardees of the competitive scholarship which had an application pool of over 1,600 worldwide.
The innovator Vishnu Padmanaban and his team member M. Ramesh Nachiappan, final-year students of BTech (Mechanical Engineering) of 2010-2014 batch at the Coimbatore campus received awards for their innovative product, “Cost Effective Vegetable Chiller for Rural Small Farmers.”
Vishnu Padmanaban of Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, was selected to represent the national member society, SAE India, for the FISITA Travelling Fellowship Award. He also presented a paper at the FISITA Student Congress 2014 held from 2-6 June 2014, in MECC Maastricht Conference Venue, the Netherlands. Nazneen P. Kotwal, the final year student from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was the winner of the coveted TCS Best Student Award for the year 2015.
