Amrita Student Nithin Anjaneya Wins Bronze in National Muaythai Championship 2015

Nithin Anjaneya, secured Third Place and won a Bronze Medal at the 5th MTI PRO AM National Muaythai Championship 2015. Nithin Anjaneya is an eighth semester BTech student from the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru. He participated as a contestant in 63.5-67 Kg weight category, Senior and Cadet, in the age group of 19-37 at the competition. He was the only contestant selected from Karnataka.

The Championship, organized as per the IFMA and MTI Rules and Regulations, was held at Jorethang, South Sikkim from 28th January to 5th February, 2015. Muaythai India (MTI) National Federation is Sole National Governing Body of Muaythai Sport Recognized by the Indian Olympic Association affiliated to International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA), federation of Amateur Muaythai of Asia (FAMA) and Member of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). He was one of the few participants selected from the institution.

Nithin Anjaneya also participated in the Male category in the 63.5 Kg division at IFMA Muaythai University World Cup 2015. Additionally, he was selected to represent India from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in the World University Cup held in March 2015 at Bangkok, Thailand under the patronage of FISU International University Sports Federation. ​
