M. Tech. in Earn and Learn

Program Overview

Welcome to the “Earn and Learn” MTech Program at Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kollam campus. This program offers a remarkable opportunity for students and professionals eager to enhance their technical expertise in cutting-edge domains such as 5G, IoT, Mobile Edge, AI/ML, Blockchain, XR (Extended Reality), Biomedical Engineering, GIS, and Remote Sensing. Designed with flexibility in mind, this program allows you to pursue an M Tech degree while doing a paid internship in parallel at our center. Our center is a state-of-the-art, interdisciplinary hub for teaching and research, offering three specialized MTech programs under the “Earn and Learn” initiative.

How long is the Program?

The candidate can join our center as an Intern for a monthly stipend of Rs. 10000. They will work on one of our exciting projects under a faculty member as an intern. They also get to join one of our three M Tech programs as working professionals. The fee structure and program duration will be the same as for the working professionals (see the link).

*The internship will continue for the duration of the M Tech program. If they are found deficient in their internship assignments, the internship will be withdrawn. The review will be done on a quarterly basis. However, they can still continue with the M Tech program if they wish.

How will they attend classes?

They will need to be fully present on the campus both for their studies and their internship assignments

What will be the evaluation structure for courses?

Typically, the internal evaluation will consist of a mid-term exam, quizzes, and assignments. There will also be a final exam at the end of the semester.

What are the companies in which M Tech graduates get placed?

The graduates get placed in three categories of companies – multi-national product companies, start-up companies, and IT companies. Examples of product companies are – Nokia, Toshiba, MediaTek, Getinge, Tata Elxsi, ESRI, Phillips, Intel, Dell, IBM, Cerner, Bosch, Cisco, etc. Several start-ups have hired our graduates. Examples of IT companies are – TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, etc. In addition, our graduates have joined research organizations and universities/colleges.
