Bio

Buddepu Santhosh Kumar is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amaravati Campus. He obtained his Ph.D. in Signal and Image Processing from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, Odisha. He received his M.Tech. in Digital Electronics and Communication Systems (DECS) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) in 2013 and his B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from JNTUK in 2010.

With nearly seven years of teaching and research experience, Kumar’s research interests lie in the areas of signal and image processing, ground-penetrating radar (GPR) imaging, and machine and deep intelligence algorithms. His doctoral work focuses on developing intelligent algorithms for subsurface object detection and classification, emphasizing advanced clutter removal and feature extraction techniques for GPR data interpretation. His technical expertise includes MATLAB and Python programming, and he is proficient in developing algorithms for signal and image processing applications.

In addition to his academic and research pursuits, Kumar has received multiple recognitions, including the “Prathiba Award” from the Government of Andhra Pradesh and scholarships from the Institute of Engineers (India). He also serves as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals in the fields of signal and image processing and intelligent sensing systems.
