Research Project: AI-Driven & Digital Decision Support for Scaling and Sustaining Evidence-Based Interventions in Rural Development

Evidence-based interventions (EBIs) have proven effective in controlled settings but often struggle to scale and sustain impact in real-world conditions. Local differences, resource limitations, and logistical challenges can hinder their success. This research explores how digital tools—including AI-driven decision support, mobile apps, dashboards, automation, and tele-solutions—can enhance the adoption, consistency, and long-term sustainability of EBIs in rural development.

Objectives:

  • Assess the potential of digital tools (apps, dashboards, chatbots) to improve decision-making and track progress in implementing EBIs.
  • Explore automation and tele-solutions to scale interventions efficiently while ensuring they remain relevant and effective in different contexts.
  • Examine how digital and AI-powered personalization can tailor interventions to user needs, behaviors, and community-specific factors.
  • Evaluate key implementation outcomes (acceptability, feasibility, scalability, and sustainability) using an implementation science approach.
