Dr. Puja Sengupta is a dedicated researcher and educator specializing in Robotics, Neurorehabilitation, and Brain–brain-computer interfaces (BCI). She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru since June 2025. She completed her M.Tech in Robotics Engineering from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, KTR, Tamil Nadu, and her B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering under MAKAUT, West Bengal.
During her doctoral studies, Dr. Sengupta published multiple journal articles and a conference paper, and she was honored with the Best Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference on Innovations in Power and Advanced Computing Technologies (i-PACT 2023). Her research primarily focuses on biophysical signal processing, cortical activation studies, and the development of BCI-based neurorehabilitation systems.
She is committed to advancing interdisciplinary research that integrates neuroscience, engineering, and assistive technology to enhance motor recovery and improve the quality of life for individuals with neurological impairments.
