Abstract : Peer-to-peer botnets have evolved to be one of the biggest threats to network security due to their use as the foundation for several cybercrimes. The problem of detecting P2P botnets entails extra difficulties, even though some current research claims to detect classic botnets efficiently. In this study, we introduce a technique based on community behavior analysis that can detect botnets that interact through P2P networks. P2P host detection is where the process begins. Then, it groups bots into communities using mutual contacts as its primary feature. To find additional bot candidates and identify possible botnet communities, it performs community behavior analysis.
