1. Media Preparation and Inoculation: – Slant, Deep and Broth. 2. Pure Culture Techniques: – Streak Plate, Spread Plate and Pour Plate.3. Cultural Characteristics of Bacteria in Solid, Liquid and Semi Solid Media. 4. Staining Techniques: – Simple, Differential, and Structural Staining.5. Motility Determination: – Hanging Drop Method

Objectives and Outcomes

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: The main objective of this course is to provide basic knowledge to undergraduate students on various microbiological practices in the laboratory.COURSE OUTCOMES: After completing the course, students shall be able to CO1. Students will get practical exposure to common methods of sterilization. CO2. Skill development for cultivating various microorganisms. CO3. Identify microorganisms by different staining methods.
