Abstract : Nanotechnology has become an important research field in all areas including medicinal chemistry. Among various methods green method of synthesis is easy, efficient and eco-friendly in comparison to chemical mediated synthesis. The use of metallic nanoparticles in the form of Bhasma (herbo-mineral-metallic compounds having mixture of micro or nano particles) has been a common practice in Ayurveda for treating various ailments since ancient time. Here is an attempt to compare the applications of Bhasma(Incinerated metallic nanoparticles) and Green synthesized nanoparticles along with their advantages over chemically synthesized nanoparticles.
