Abstract : The word Saumanasya means good mind and Garbha dhaarana means conception. Acharya Charaka gives special preference to the Saumanasya of Manas during conce ption. Has stressed the negative results, if followed otherwise. During conception, first union of Sukra and Sonita takes place folowed by Sammurchana of Atma, which is facilitated by Manas. So in the absence of contact of Manas no conception is possible, even if Atma, Indrya, and its Artha are in contact with each other. 25% to 60% of infertile individuals report psychiatric symptoms and that their levels of anxiety and depression are significantly higher than in fertile controls. METHODS: Various classical texts available in the modern and ayurveda literature were revised to acquire the present knowledge of the topic. Database available were searched using the key words Saumanasya, conception, Vandyata and infertility. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Due to Chinta, Shoka, Krodha, Bhaya, Irshya, Utkantha and Udvega etc. Shukravaha and Arthava vaha Srotas get vitiated and may affect the ovarian axis and testosterone axis andh ypothalamo-pituitary affects fertilization negatively. Hormones such as catecholamine's (adrenaline, noradrenaline and dopamine) and the hypothalamic-pituitarY adrenal axis interact with hormonessuch as gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) Prolactin, LH and FSH. Neurotransmitters sucn as Norepinephrine, dopamine, epinephrine, acetylcholine, and prostaglandins transmit impulses to vascular smooth muscles within the ovary and could influence the hemodynamic state of blood vessels around the follicle and thus alter ovulation. In females stress can lead to anovulation, amenorrhea and Otne menstrual irregularities. In males there can be decreased sper count, motility and defective morphology. CONCLUSION: Making a Conscious effort to clean up the emotional clutter helps clear fertility pathwavs and paves the way for the future child.
