Bio

Maria Sabastin S. currently serves as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) at the School of Business, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru Campus.

He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and an EMBA–MS from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in collaboration with the University at Buffalo, New York. He is presently pursuing his Ph.D. at Amrita School of Business.

Driven by a strong passion for teaching and research, he began his academic career with the School of Business, Bengaluru Campus. His doctoral research focuses on patients’ experiences and healthcare providers’ practices in the referral process within the urban Indian healthcare system, employing a mixed-methods approach. The research examines how referral pathways are navigated and operationalized in complex urban environments, with particular emphasis on patient awareness, healthcare-seeking behavior, provider decision-making, systemic barriers, and socioeconomic disparities, drawing empirical insights from urban India.

He has published research papers on healthcare referral systems and has presented his work at national and international conferences in the field of healthcare management. His teaching portfolio includes Management Information Systems, IT Fundamentals for Business Analytics, RDBMS, Data Visualization, Natural Language Processing, and Python Programming, reflecting his interdisciplinary expertise at the intersection of management, technology, and analytics.
