The WE Project Store continued its mission of empowering artisans, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and strengthening community development through various initiatives during February 2026. Activities during the month ranged from artisan support and product development to exhibitions, training programs, and community engagement.
February 2, 2026 – Supporting Artisan Families Through Educational Guidance
On February 2, 2026, the WE Store team provided guidance to the daughter of one of its artisans regarding higher education opportunities and course applications, as she will be completing her 12th grade this year. This initiative reflects WE Store’s commitment to supporting artisans beyond livelihoods by contributing to their family development, educational awareness, and overall well-being.
February 2, 2026 – Artisan Paintings Prepared for International Conference
On the same day, the WE Store received an order for 20 paintings to be presented to national and international guests at a conference hosted by the Amrita School of Biotechnology, scheduled from February 9–11, 2026.
The paintings were created by Amritavarshani SHG artisans including Sharmila Chechi, Princy Chechi, Likitha Chechi, Anuragi Chechi, Shibi Chechi, and Adithya, who received training from AMMACHI Labs and CWEGE.
The artisans successfully completed the order within the stipulated time. The paintings were packed using jute folders stitched by Santhi Chechi and later couriered from Kozhikode, Kerala. All finished items were carefully quality-checked by the WE Store team before dispatch.
February 2, 2026 – Digital Skills Training for Artisans
As part of the Rural MBA curriculum, the WE Store team conducted a session for Vinodji, Field Coordinator, on the topic “How to Use Pinterest and YouTube Effectively.”
The presentation slides were translated into Hindi, enabling Vinodji to deliver the training to artisans from the North region, helping them better utilize digital platforms for product promotion and learning.
February 4, 2026 – Sivasakthi SHG Video Showcased at Nursing Conference
A video highlighting the work of Sivasakthi Self Help Group (SHG) was showcased at the Nursing Conference held in Pune, bringing attention to the group’s inspiring activities and craftsmanship.
February 4, 2026 – Artwork Contribution for Biotechnology Conference
On the same day, Adithya, a participant from the Sankalp Avsar Batch (2022–2023), submitted her first painting to be displayed during the Biotechnology Conference, marking an important milestone in her creative journey.
February 4, 2026 – Collection of Coffee Pouches for Upcycling
The WE Store team collected 23 used coffee pouches from the Amritapuri College campus. These materials will be repurposed to create upcycled products, reinforcing WE Store’s commitment to circular economy practices and sustainable product development.
February 5, 2026 – New Artisan Shop Inaugurated at Kattilkadavu
A new artisan shop was inaugurated at Kattilkadavu as part of the group’s growth initiative. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Bri. Karunyamrita Chaitanya, Ward Member Karan, and members of the WE Store team, marking an important step in expanding market opportunities for artisans.
February 5, 2026 – Jute Bag Order for Leadership Programme
An order for 100 jute bags was received from the Master’s in Business School for a Leadership Programme scheduled on February 8, 2026.
The bags were stitched by Aswathy Chechi and Sreeshma Chechi, while the WE Store team conducted quality checks on the finished products before delivery.
February 6, 2026 – Upcycling Initiative Using Old Umbrellas
The WE Store team, along with mentor Meenamba Chechi, undertook the process of sorting, cleaning, and washing old umbrellas collected earlier. These materials will be reused in producing bags and pouches, promoting responsible material usage and supporting sustainable artisan product development.
February 11, 2026 – Entrepreneurial Support for New Artisan
The WE Store team supported a new artisan, Adithya, by helping her create a bill book and official seal while also providing guidance on product costing. This initiative aimed to strengthen her capacity to independently manage basic business operations, enhancing her financial literacy and entrepreneurial confidence.
February 11, 2026 – Inclusive Skill Development Initiative
Shalini, Documentation In-Charge at WE Store, collaborated with Gopika, a transgender participant, to help her test and develop her makeup skills, demonstrating WE Store’s commitment to inclusive skill development and empowerment.
February 14, 2026 – Product Photoshoot for Online Promotion
A professional photoshoot was conducted for Mural Art hand-painted saris intended for the website.

February 16, 2026 – Circular Economy Initiative by Artisan
Artisan Bincy, from the Sankalp Avsar Tailoring Batch (2023), collected used coffee packaging materials to produce upcycled products. This effort reinforces the circular economy approach strongly promoted by CWEGE.
February 16, 2026 – Upcycled Product Exhibition at Amritapuri
The WE Store displayed its upcycled products at the Amritapuri campus in Vallikavu, Kollam. During the exhibition, the team welcomed Mr. Daniel Hurstel, a Senior Counsel in the Corporate & Financial Services Department and member of his firm’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Hurstel has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, corporate governance, and financial instruments. He visited the exhibition and interacted with the WE Store team.
February 17–18, 2026 – Participation in Amrita Sustainability Conference
The WE Store showcased its upcycled products at the Amrita Sustainability Conference held at Amrita University’s Ettimadai Campus, Coimbatore. The conference brought together prominent leaders and experts to witness Amrita University’s sustainability initiatives and impact.
February 14–18, 2026 – Tailoring Skill Training in Harsani, Rajasthan
In Harsani village, Barmer District, Rajasthan, 10 girls and 10 women participated in a skill development training program in tailoring.
Many trainees began as beginners but gradually developed skills in both hand stitching and machine sewing. By the end of the training, participants were able to create various useful products such as:
The program strengthened their confidence, teamwork, and motivation to pursue income-generating activities through tailoring.
February 19, 2026 – Introduction of New Artisan Products
The WE Store team introduced new products including a checked pouch and a hat stitched by artisan Sreeshma. The team reviewed the items and provided feedback on design, finishing, and market readiness, supporting product diversification and skill enhancement.
February 21, 2026 – Shivashakthi Tailoring Unit Supplies Conference Bags
The Shivashakthi Tailoring Unit delivered over 60 bags to the WE Store for stock. During production, the team experimented with different fabric colors combined with Amrita and AMMA machine embroidery designs.
These bags serve as conference bags, and the variety of colors allows clients to select from multiple design options.
