Bio

Dr. Vineeth Ajith is a sustainability researcher specializing in water sustainability, community-centered development, and technology-enabled solutions for addressing water challenges in vulnerable communities. His work integrates participatory research methodologies, water governance, digital technologies, and data-driven decision-making to improve water security and community resilience.

Over the past decade, he has led and coordinated large-scale field interventions through the Jivamritam Purified Drinking Water Programme, facilitating sustainable drinking water solutions in more than 320 communities across India. His experience spans community engagement, participatory rural appraisal, multi-stakeholder co-design, sustainability assessment, and the development of community-owned business models for decentralized water systems.

Dr. Vineeth’s research focuses on understanding the interactions between communities and water systems through socio-hydrological approaches, while leveraging emerging technologies such as digital twins, artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT to improve water infrastructure planning and management. His current research interests include decentralized water purification systems, digital twins for water infrastructure, river–groundwater interactions, water quality monitoring, and community-based water governance.

He has collaborated with researchers from international institutions including Tel Aviv University and has published in leading peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. His work aims to bridge scientific research, technological innovation, and community action to create sustainable and scalable solutions for water security and rural development.
