Abstract : Distinct from the existing works, this work develops a hybrid variable-gain impulsive sampled-data controller for reachable set boundedness, in which the random rather than periodic impulses are induced to expedite the convergence time. By construction of suitable Lypaunov Kranovskii functional, some effective conditions for leaderless and leader-following consensus with reachable set performance are obtained. Linear matrix inequalities are formulated and solved to compute the control gain matrices required to achieve the desired system performance. The proposed method’s effectiveness and its reduced conservatism, particularly concerning the sampling and impulse intervals are demonstrated through numerical simulations.
