Abstract : The current investigation makes use of Ansys Fluent to model the buoyancy-induced heat transfer of an electronic chip positioned in the center of the bottom wall of an air-filled chamber. The simulations are performed at Prandtl number of 0.74 and a Rayleigh number of 105, whilst the chip's heat flux input is altered and different constraints on the boundaries are applied. Observations of flow instability and discussion of isotherms and fluctuations of velocity vectors are presented.
